This list gives you Bible verses about spring for the seasons when something in your life feels like it is waking up, or when you are still waiting for it to. It is written for anyone who wants Scripture that speaks to renewal, patience, growth and the faithfulness of God in changing seasons. Each verse below is paired with a short reflection and a practical way to carry it through your day.

What these verses share is a picture of God working quietly and steadily, the way the ground thaws and the first shoots push through. Some speak of new life, some of waiting well, and some of the Lord who makes all things new. Read them slowly, and let the seasonal image do some of the teaching for you.

Verses for Seeing Signs of New Life

Some mornings you notice a green leaf or a warmer breeze and feel a small lift of hope. These verses point to the God who creates and renews, and they invite you to look for what He is already doing around you.

Genesis 8:22

While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”

(WEB)

This verse reminds you that the rhythm of seasons is held in God’s faithful hands. When winter feels long, try naming one reliable thing God has kept steady in your own history, and thank Him for it before the day begins.

Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

(WEB)

God speaks here of doing something new that has not yet fully appeared. Write one hope you have been reluctant to voice on a card, and place it where you will see it each morning as a small act of expectation.

Song of Solomon 2:11-12

11 For, behold, the winter is past. The rain is over and gone. 12 The flowers appear on the earth. The time of the singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.

(WEB)

These lines describe the winter ending and the singing of birds returning. Step outside for five minutes this week and notice one sound or sight of new life, letting it become a quiet reminder that renewal is underway.

Verses for Patience in the Waiting

Spring rarely arrives on the day we expect. The seeds we planted in faith sometimes sit in the dark for a long time before anything shows. These verses speak to the patience that trusts God while nothing seems to be happening yet.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven…

(WEB)

This verse affirms that every season has its appointed time, including the seasons you did not choose. When you feel rushed, pause and name the season you are in, then ask God what He might be doing in it.

Psalm 27:14

Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the LORD.

(WEB)

Waiting on the Lord is an active posture, not a passive one. Choose one small faithful step this week toward a goal you have been waiting on, and offer it as an expression of trust rather than impatience.

James 5:7-8

7 Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

(WEB)

James uses the farmer’s patience with the early and late rains as his picture. Think of one area where you are waiting for growth, and tend it daily with the same steady care a farmer gives a field.

Galatians 6:9

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.

(WEB)

This verse promises a harvest at the proper time for those who do not give up. Consider one good habit or kindness you have grown tired of, and commit to returning to it once more this week.

Verses for Fresh Starts and Renewal

Spring invites a fresh start, and Scripture is full of people who were given one. These verses remind you that God’s mercies are renewed and that you can begin again with Him.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. 23 They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

(WEB)

Even in a book of grief, the writer finds that God’s mercies are new every morning. Before checking your phone tomorrow, speak this truth aloud, and let it shape the first thoughts of your day.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

(WEB)

This verse says that anyone in Christ is a new creation. Consider one past failure you keep returning to, and in prayer hand it to God as something He has already moved beyond.

Romans 6:4

We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

(WEB)

Paul describes walking in newness of life, a fitting thought for a season of fresh beginnings. Choose one concrete change you want to make, and write the first step on the calendar this coming week.

Revelation 21:5

He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”

(WEB)

The One seated on the throne declares that He makes all things new. Let this promise lift your gaze beyond the current season, and pray for one area of your life where you long to see God’s renewal.

Verses for Gratitude in a Blooming World

When the world turns green again, it is easy to notice what God has given. These verses invite gratitude for the goodness that surrounds you, especially in the ordinary gifts of each day.

Psalm 65:9-13

9 You visit the earth, and water it. You greatly enrich it. The river of God is full of water. You provide them grain, for so you have ordained it. 10 You drench its furrows. You level its ridges. You soften it with showers. You bless it with a crop. 11 You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance. 12 The wilderness grasslands overflow. The hills are clothed with gladness. 13 The pastures are covered with flocks. The valleys also are clothed with grain. They shout for joy! They also sing.

(WEB)

This psalm celebrates God’s care for the land, the fields and the flocks as they flourish. Walk through a park or garden this week and name three things you see that you did not create, offering thanks for each one.

Psalm 104:24

The LORD, how many are your works! In wisdom have you made them all. The earth is full of your riches.

(WEB)

The psalmist marvels at the variety of God’s works and the wisdom they display. Pick one plant, animal or natural feature you usually overlook, and take a moment to praise God for its design.

Acts 14:17

Yet he didn’t leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”

(WEB)

Paul points to God’s kindness in giving rain and fruitful seasons, filling hearts with food and gladness. At your next meal, pause before eating and thank God specifically for the ground and the hands that brought the food to you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

(WEB)

Paul calls believers to give thanks in all circumstances, not only in the pleasant ones. Try writing one sentence of thanks each evening this week, even on a difficult day, as a steady practice of gratitude.

How to Use These Verses

Write one or two of these verses on a card or in a notebook you will see often, such as near the kitchen sink, on the bathroom mirror or as a phone lock screen. Reading them while you are doing something routine, like making coffee or walking to the car, helps the seasonal images settle into your memory rather than staying as an idea.

Read a verse slowly, then pray it back to God in your own words. Ask Him to show you where the picture of spring applies to your current situation, and listen for what comes to mind. Returning to the same verse for a few weeks often reveals more than reading ten new ones once.

A Short Prayer for Spring

Lord, You made the seasons and You keep every one of them in Your hands. When I see new growth around me, help me notice it and give You thanks. When I am still waiting for something to bloom in my own life, teach me to trust Your timing and keep faithful in small things. Make me a person who expects renewal because You are the God who makes all things new. Let this season remind me that You are at work even when I cannot yet see it. Amen.
