This page gives you Bible verses that show how Jesus loves, grouped by the situations where you most need to remember it. It is for anyone who wants to read about Jesus’ love in plain words and then take a verse into an ordinary day. The verses here share one thread: Jesus’ love is not a feeling that rises and falls with your performance, but a steady commitment he has already made to you.

Verses for When You Feel Unlovable

Some days the hardest voice to silence is your own, the one that says you have failed too often to be loved. These verses answer that voice by pointing to the timing and the cost of Jesus’ love. They speak of love given before you deserved it.

Romans 5:8

But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

(WEB)

Paul points out that Christ died for us while we were still far from good. When guilt tells you that you must clean yourself up first, write this verse on an index card and read it before you open your inbox. It reminds you that your standing rests on his choice, not on your current record.

John 15:9

Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love.

(WEB)

Jesus says he loves his disciples the same way the Father loves him. That comparison is large enough to steady you. Try saying the verse slowly while you wait at a red light, letting the words settle before the next task pulls you away.

1 John 4:10

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

(WEB)

John shows that love begins with God, not with our effort to earn it. This verse is useful when you catch yourself bargaining with God. Let it shift the question from what you have done to what he has already done.

Verses for Days of Worry and Hard Choices

Love is most tested when life feels unsteady: money is tight, a decision looms, or the future is unclear. These verses show Jesus’ love as a steady presence in those moments, not a promise that the problems vanish.

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from God’s love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(WEB)

Paul lists the powers that might seem able to separate us from God’s love and then rules each one out. Pick one item from the list that worries you most and name it in prayer, then read the verse again. Naming the fear and setting it beside the promise makes it smaller.

Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

(WEB)

Jesus invites weary people to come to him and take his yoke. Before a hard conversation or a long shift, pause and imagine handing him the weight you are carrying. This passage works well as a short breath prayer when the day has gotten heavy.

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

(WEB)

Peter tells us to cast our anxiety on God because he cares for us. Try writing your worries on a sheet of paper, then folding it and setting it aside as a visible act of handing them over. The verse gives the action its reason: he cares.

Verses for Times of Loss and Loneliness

Grief and loneliness can make Jesus’ love feel distant. The verses in this group show him near to people in pain, and in some cases show his own tears and sorrow. They are meant for quiet moments when words are hard to find.

John 11:35

Jesus wept.

(WEB)

This short verse says Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus, even though he knew he would raise him. It shows that his love includes sharing in grief. If you are mourning, let this verse tell you that your tears do not offend him.

Psalm 34:18

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

(WEB)

The psalmist says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. This verse fits a lonely evening when no one else seems to notice. Sit with it for a minute and speak your sorrow aloud, trusting that he hears it.

Matthew 28:20

Teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

(WEB)

Jesus closes Matthew’s gospel with a promise to be with his followers always. Write this verse on the inside of a notebook cover so you see it each time you open it. It is a reminder that his presence does not depend on how crowded your life feels.

Verses for Sharing Jesus’ Love With Others

Jesus’ love is meant to move outward. These verses connect receiving his love with extending it to family, friends and strangers. They turn a comfort into a calling.

John 13:34

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.

(WEB)

Jesus gives a new command: love one another as he has loved us. Choose one person this week who is hard to love and do one small kind thing for them. The verse asks for action, not just agreement.

1 John 3:18

My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.

(WEB)

John warns against love that is only spoken. Before you tell someone you care, ask what practical help you could offer. This verse keeps your words honest by tying them to deeds.

Ephesians 3:17-19

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, 19 and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

(WEB)

Paul prays that his readers would grasp how wide and long and high and deep Christ’s love is. Use this passage as a prayer for a friend who is struggling, asking God to root that friend in the same love you are learning to trust.

How to Use These Verses

Choose two or three verses that speak most directly to your current season and write them where you will see them daily, such as on a bathroom mirror, a phone lock screen or the first page of your planner. Repetition helps a verse move from something you read to something you remember.

Read them at the start of the day before the noise begins, or at night when you review what happened. You may find it helpful to read one verse slowly, then pray a sentence in response, then move on. Over time, the same verse will often meet you in a different way as your circumstances change.

A Short Prayer for Jesus’ Love

Lord Jesus, thank you that your love for me is not based on how well I perform today. Help me to receive it when I feel unworthy, and to remember that you chose me before I could choose you. When worry crowds in, quiet my mind and remind me that you care for what concerns me. Teach me to love others as you have loved me, with actions as well as words. Let your love be steady in my life and shape the way I treat the people around me. Amen.
