This list gives you King James Version Scripture about money, arranged by the situations where people most often need it: an unpaid bill on the kitchen table, a paycheck that never seems to stretch, a decision about giving, and the quiet temptation to measure your worth by your bank balance. It is written for anyone who wants God’s words on finances in a form they can read, remember and act on. Each passage below speaks to money as a matter of trust, honesty and care for others rather than as a set of rules to memorize.

Verses for Facing Anxiety About Bills

Few things press on the mind like a stack of bills and a shrinking balance. The verses in this section do not pretend the numbers are small. They point you toward a God who knows what you need and invites you to bring your worries to Him before they settle into dread.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

(KJV)

Paul connects worry with prayer, and that connection is practical. When the bills start to crowd your thinking, write down the specific amounts and the specific fears, then turn each one into a sentence of prayer. Naming the worry out loud often loosens its grip.

Matthew 6:31-33

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

(KJV)

Jesus addresses the question of what we will eat and wear, and He calls it the concern of people who do not know the Father. Ask yourself each morning what you are seeking first. Put God’s kingdom at the top of the list and let the smaller questions take their proper place below it.

Psalm 37:25

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

(KJV)

The psalmist writes from long experience, not from theory. Keep a running record of the times God provided, even in small ways. Looking back at that record gives you something solid to stand on when the next month looks uncertain.

Verses on Contentment and Enough

Money has a way of promising that more will finally bring peace. These passages press back against that promise and describe a contentment that does not depend on the size of the account. They ask whether you can be satisfied with what God has given while still working faithfully for more.

1 Timothy 6:6-8

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

(KJV)

Paul names godliness with contentment as great gain, and he lists food and clothing as enough. Try a simple exercise this week: name three things you already have that money cannot buy. Thanking God for them trains the heart to recognize sufficiency.

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

(KJV)

The writer links contentment to God’s own promise never to leave or forsake His people. When you feel the pull to spend on comfort or status, remind yourself that your security rests in His presence. That reminder can slow an impulsive purchase.

Ecclesiastes 5:10

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

(KJV)

The Preacher observes that the lover of silver is never satisfied with silver. Notice whether your desire for more is growing faster than your gratitude. A regular pause to ask “Is this enough for today?” can keep appetite from setting the pace of your life.

Verses on Honesty, Work and Stewardship

God cares how money is earned, kept and spent as much as how much there is. These verses address integrity in business, diligence in work and the responsibility to manage what you have been entrusted with. They treat your finances as part of your obedience.

Proverbs 22:1

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

(KJV)

Proverbs ranks a good name above great riches, and that ranking should shape daily choices. Before you cut a corner or stretch the truth on an expense report, consider how much your reputation is worth over the long run. Protecting it is often worth more than the short-term gain.

Proverbs 10:4

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

(KJV)

Diligence and laziness are set side by side here. Whether your work is paid or unpaid, give it your full attention this week, starting with the task you have been tempted to postpone. Faithful effort is one of the ways God shapes your provision.

Luke 16:10

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

(KJV)

Jesus teaches that faithfulness in small things reveals faithfulness in larger ones. Look at how you handle your smallest transactions, such as loose change, small receipts and minor budget lines. Those habits are preparing you for whatever responsibility comes next.

Verses on Generosity and Giving

Scripture does not treat money only as something to protect. It also calls believers to open their hands. These passages describe giving as an act of trust and joy, one that reflects the generosity God has shown to us.

2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give ; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

(KJV)

Paul asks for cheerful giving, not reluctant or forced giving. Before you give, pray about the amount and the purpose, and let your gift come from thankfulness rather than guilt. Giving that flows from gratitude tends to carry more joy.

Proverbs 3:9-10

9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

(KJV)

The proverb asks you to honor the Lord with the firstfruits of what you earn. Consider setting aside the first portion of each paycheck for God before other bills are paid. Making that choice early puts trust into practice.

Acts 20:35

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

(KJV)

Paul quotes the Lord Jesus saying that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Look for one opportunity this week to meet a real need quietly, without seeking credit. Generosity that stays hidden often teaches the giver the most.

How to Use These Verses

Reading verses about money once will not change much on its own. Write a few of these passages on index cards and place them where you handle bills, such as the kitchen counter, the checkbook or the phone you use for banking. Seeing them at the moment of decision turns Scripture into a habit rather than an occasional thought.

Read the verses slowly, ideally before you open your budget or pay a bill. Ask God what He wants you to notice, then pray the words back to Him in your own language. Revisit the same passages over several weeks, because the Spirit often uses repetition to deepen what a single reading only touched.

A Short Prayer for Money

Lord, You know exactly what I owe, what I have and what I fear about the months ahead. I bring those numbers to You honestly, without pretending they are smaller or larger than they are. Teach me to trust You as my provider and to hold my money loosely in Your hands.

Guard my heart from the lie that more money will finally make me secure. Give me contentment with what You have given, diligence in the work You have set before me, and integrity in every transaction, even when no one is watching. Make me generous in ways that reflect Your generosity toward me. Amen.
