This page offers daily prayers for newlyweds, written for the first months and years of marriage when two lives are learning to share one home, one calendar, and one set of hopes. Pray the main prayer each morning or evening as written, or read it aloud together and then speak your own words in the spaces it leaves open.
Daily Prayers for Newlyweds
Lord, thank You for bringing us together and for the covenant we have made before You and before the people who love us. Some mornings we wake up tired from new routines, unfamiliar sheets, and the strange joy of finally living under one roof. Be the center of our home. Help us remember that the marriage You gave us belongs to You first, and that You are faithful even on the days we feel unsure of ourselves.
Give us patience with each other as we learn each other’s habits, moods, and ways of loving. When we disagree about money, chores, in-laws, or how to spend a free Saturday, soften our hearts and slow our words. Help us listen before we answer and forgive before the hurt has time to grow. Keep us honest with one another, and keep us kind when we are too tired to be patient. Guard our time together and our time apart, and bless the work of our hands today. Amen.
A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment
Father, we give You this day as a married couple. Hold us together when we are weary and keep us gentle with each other. Teach us to speak with grace, to forgive quickly, and to trust You with what we cannot control. Make our home a place of peace, and let our love for each other point others back to You. Amen.

How to Pray This Prayer
Many couples find it helpful to pray the morning prayer together over coffee before the day begins, or at the kitchen table before one of you leaves for work. Holding hands or resting a hand on your spouse’s shoulder can make the prayer feel shared rather than recited. If you are apart for the day, pray it alone and send your spouse a short text afterward, letting them know you lifted them up.
Evening works well too, especially after a day that felt long or difficult. Pray the shorter version as you turn off the lights, and invite your spouse to add a sentence of thanks or a request of their own. If you do not yet pray out loud together, start small with one sentence each. Others in your family or church, such as a mentor couple or a close friend, may also join you in praying for your marriage.
A Blessing to Close
May the Lord bless this marriage and keep it steady through every season. May He make the two of you patient, kind, and faithful to each other, and may your home be a place of rest, laughter, and grace. The love you are building today will grow stronger as you walk together with God.
