This bedtime prayer is for the business owner who lies awake sorting through the day’s emails, unpaid invoices and worries about next month’s payroll. Pray it in the evening, once the work is closed for the day and you are ready to hand it over. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and put your own words to the specific pressures on your desk.

Bedtime Prayer for My Business

Lord, I come to You at the end of this day with my business still on my mind. I thank You for the customers who came in, the work that got finished, and the people who trusted me with their orders, their projects and their money. I thank You for the strength You gave me when the phone kept ringing and the to-do list kept growing. Where I fell short today, I ask You to forgive me and to make up what I lacked.

Now I release what I cannot control. I give You the numbers I stared at this afternoon, the cash flow that feels so tight, the contract I am waiting on, and the employees and suppliers who depend on me. Help me to sleep knowing that You see every spreadsheet and every late-night decision. Guard my mind from replaying the same fears over and over, and guard my family from carrying what belongs to You. Give me wisdom for tomorrow’s choices and the courage to act on them.

Watch over this business while I rest. Protect what we have built, the equipment, the records, the reputation, and the people who work alongside me. Let my sleep be real rest and not just a pause before the next worry. Thank You for being faithful when I am not, and for being my provider when I am tempted to think everything rests on me. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Father, I am tired and my business is weighing on me tonight. I give You today’s sales, its problems and its unanswered questions. Thank You for what went well and for the people You placed in my path. Take this worry off my shoulders and let me rest in Your care. Keep my business, my team and my family under Your protection until morning. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Psalm 4:8

In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, the LORD alone, make me live in safety.

(WEB)

Pray this verse as you lie down, asking God to be the one who keeps you safe while your business sleeps. It turns the night from a time of watchfulness into a time of trust in the One who does not slumber.

Psalm 127:2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones.

(WEB)

Use this verse to confess the habit of working until exhaustion. Ask God to teach you to labor faithfully during the day and to receive the rest He gives without guilt.

Matthew 6:34

Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.

(WEB)

Bring tomorrow’s uncertainties to God in prayer by naming them one by one. Ask Him to give you what you need for the day in front of you and to leave the rest in His hands.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

(WEB)

Turn this passage into a list of specific requests for your business, speaking each one aloud. Then pause and receive the peace God promises, trusting Him with the outcome.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

(WEB)

Pray these words over the decisions you face, especially those you cannot yet see clearly. Ask God to direct your steps and to make your paths straight as you trust Him above your own understanding.

How to Pray This Prayer

Pray this prayer after you have closed your laptop, cleared the desk, and put your phone in another room if you can. Sit on the edge of your bed or in a chair by the window, and keep a notebook nearby so you can jot down any task that suddenly pops into your head. Writing it down lets you release it to God without trying to hold it in your memory all night.

Your spouse, a business partner, or a trusted friend can pray this with you, or take turns reading the lines aloud. Hearing someone else speak your concerns to God can loosen the grip of worry. If your business is struggling or you feel overwhelmed, consider adding a line that names the person you trust to walk through it with you.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord who watches over Israel neither slumber nor sleep watch over this business and the one who runs it. May He give rest to tired hands and a quiet mind, and may His peace guard every heart in the household tonight. May the work of your hands be established in His faithfulness, and may you wake refreshed to meet the day with courage.
