This is a Christian prayer for my studies, written for students, teachers, and anyone working through a hard course, exam season, or a long stretch of reading and writing. Pray it at the start of a study session, the morning of a test, or whenever your mind feels scattered and you need to bring your work to God. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and add the names and concerns on your heart.
Christian Prayer for My Studies
Lord, thank You for the gift of learning and for the minds You have given me. I come to You before I open my books, because I know I cannot understand anything apart from You. Quiet the noise in my head. Help me to focus on one page, one problem, one sentence at a time, and to stop worrying about everything that is still ahead of me.
Give me patience when the material is hard and the progress is slow. When I want to give up or rush through something I do not understand, remind me that good work takes time. Help me to be honest about what I know and what I still need to learn, and give me the humility to ask for help from my teachers, classmates, and friends. Keep me from comparing myself to others, and help me to do my own work with integrity.
Thank You that my worth does not depend on my grades. Guard my heart from pride when things go well and from despair when they do not. Bless the time I spend studying, and let whatever I learn be used for good, for others, and for Your glory. Amen.
A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment
Father, I am anxious about this exam and overwhelmed by all I have to do. Calm my mind and help me to focus on what is in front of me right now. Bring to my memory what I have studied, and give me clarity as I read and think. Help me to do my best and to trust You with the outcome. Amen.

How to Pray This Prayer
Try praying the full prayer before your first study session of the day, sitting at your desk or table with your materials open but not yet started. Keep a pen nearby and, if it helps, write down one or two specific worries or subjects so you can name them to God. Some students find it helpful to hold a pencil or a highlighter in their hands as they pray, a small reminder that their effort is an offering.
You can also pray this together with a roommate, study partner, parent, or friend who is walking through the same season. Ask them to pray the shorter version with you before a big test or presentation. Sharing the prayer with someone else can remind you that you are not studying alone, and that others are carrying your needs before God too.
A Blessing to Close
May the Lord open your mind and steady your heart as you study. May He give you clear thinking, patient perseverance, and peace that does not depend on how the day turns out. May He go before you into every exam, every lecture, and every late night at the desk, and may you rest in His faithfulness.
