This page gives you King James Version verses about choosing faith, for anyone who wants to trust God on purpose rather than only when life feels steady. The verses are grouped by situation, with a short reflection after each one and a practical way to carry it into your day. Many of these passages share one thread: faith is a decision you make again and again, often while you cannot yet see how things will turn out.

Verses for the Morning You Are Unsure

Some mornings faith feels like a choice you have to make before your coffee is ready. These verses speak to the hours when you are not sure what God is doing and need a place to stand.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

(KJV)

Solomon sets two things side by side: trusting the Lord with all your heart and refusing to lean only on what you understand. Try naming one specific decision you are tempted to handle on your own, then tell God you are giving that decision to him before you open your email.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

(KJV)

The writer defines faith as confidence in things hoped for and assurance about things not yet seen. When you cannot see the outcome, choose one small act of trust today, such as praying before a phone call you are dreading, and let that be your evidence.

Psalm 56:3

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

(KJV)

David admits he is afraid, and then he says that in that very moment he will put his trust in God. Write this verse on a card and keep it in your pocket, so that the next time fear rises you have a sentence ready to answer it.

Verses for Choosing Faith When Trouble Comes

When hardship arrives, the pull toward worry or bitterness can be strong. These passages show faith as something you hold onto while the situation is still unresolved.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

(KJV)

God speaks directly to fearful people and promises his presence, strength and help. Next time you feel overwhelmed, pause and repeat the promise slowly, then take the next practical step in front of you rather than the whole path at once.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

(KJV)

Paul teaches that God works in all things for the good of those who love him, which is a claim about God’s purposes rather than a promise that everything will feel good. Ask yourself where you have already seen God bring something useful out of a hard season, and thank him for that specific instance.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

(KJV)

Paul hears that God’s grace is enough for him in his weakness, and he chooses to boast in that weakness. If you feel depleted today, name one area where you are weak and ask God to show his strength there rather than hiding the struggle.

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

(KJV)

The psalmist calls God a refuge and a strength, a very present help in trouble. Choose one place in your home or car where you can pause for thirty seconds and remind yourself that God is near before you respond to the trouble in front of you.

Verses for Trusting God in Everyday Decisions

Faith is not only for crises. These verses address ordinary choices about work, money, relationships and time, where trusting God means asking him before you act.

James 1:5

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

(KJV)

James tells believers that God gives wisdom generously to anyone who asks. Before your next decision that feels weighty, ask God for wisdom out loud and then note the first clear thought that comes to mind.

Colossians 3:23

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men…

(KJV)

Paul encourages workers to serve wholeheartedly, as unto the Lord rather than merely to people. Tomorrow, before you begin your first task, silently offer that work to God and see whether it changes how you approach the most tedious part of the day.

Micah 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

(KJV)

The prophet summarizes what God requires: to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with him. Pick one choice you face this week and ask which option best fits those three qualities, then let that question guide your answer.

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

(KJV)

Jesus tells his listeners to seek God’s kingdom and righteousness first, trusting that other needs will be addressed. Look at your calendar for the coming week and move one item of prayer or worship to a higher place in your priorities.

Verses for Standing Firm in Faith Over Time

Choosing faith once is not the end of the story. These passages speak to endurance, the choice to keep trusting when the initial feeling has faded and the work of faith becomes steady and quiet.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

(KJV)

Paul writes that believers should not grow weary in doing good, because a harvest will come in its time. If you have been praying for something for a long time, write down one small faithful action you can repeat this week and mark it on the calendar.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

(KJV)

Paul ends his teaching on the resurrection by urging steadfastness and an abundant work for the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain. Tell one person this week about a small way God has kept you going, so that your endurance encourages someone else.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

(KJV)

In the middle of grief, the writer remembers that God’s mercies are new every morning and his faithfulness is great. Start tomorrow by reading these two verses before you check your phone, and let them set the tone for the first hour.

Hebrews 12:1-2

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(KJV)

The writer encourages believers to run with endurance, keeping their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith. When you feel like quitting, look at one concrete picture of Jesus, such as his prayer in Gethsemane, and let it steady your next step.

How to Use These Verses

Write the verses that speak to you most on a card, in a notebook or as a note on your phone’s home screen. Choose a time you already have each day, such as your commute, the first cup of coffee or before bed, to read one of them slowly and aloud. Repetition helps a verse move from something you read into something you carry.

Pray the verse back to God rather than only reading it. Turn the wording into a sentence of your own, such as “Lord, I trust you with this decision because your Word says you will direct my path.” Then notice what situations come to mind during the day that the verse touches, and return to it when those moments arrive.

A Short Prayer for Choosing Faith

Lord, I confess that trusting you is not always my first choice. Some days I reach for control, worry or my own understanding before I think of you. Help me to choose faith again this morning, in the small decisions and in the situations I cannot yet see clearly. Remind me of the verses I have read, and bring them to mind when fear or doubt rises. Teach me to rest in your faithfulness and to walk one step at a time with you. Amen.
