This list gives you King James Version verses about God’s peace, arranged by the kinds of moments that tend to steal it: the early hours before a hard day, the quiet ache of worry at night, and the long stretches when trouble will not let go. It is written for anyone who wants to read Scripture on this subject in the KJV and find a place to stand. Each verse speaks of peace as something God gives, keeps, and promises, not something you manufacture on your own.

Verses for the Morning Before a Hard Day

Some days begin with dread before the coffee is even poured. These verses speak to that early, uneasy feeling and point to a peace that does not depend on how the day turns out.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

(KJV)

Jesus speaks these words to disciples who were frightened of what was coming. Before you leave the house, name one specific worry out loud and then set it beside this promise. Try saying, “Your peace is mine today,” before you open your email.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

(KJV)

Paul moves from anxiety straight to prayer and then to peace, which is a useful order for a crowded morning. Write down the two or three things pressing on you most, and turn each one into a short request before you start work.

Isaiah 26:3

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

(KJV)

The verse ties peace to a mind that stays fixed on God, not to a schedule that stays calm. When your thoughts start racing ahead to the meeting, pause and repeat the phrase “thou wilt keep him in perfect peace” to yourself as you walk to the car.

Verses for Sleepless Nights and Worried Hearts

Night has a way of magnifying every fear. The verses in this group are meant for the bed, the dark kitchen, or the hour when sleep refuses to come.

Psalm 4:8

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD , only makest me dwell in safety.

(KJV)

David ends this psalm by describing a rest that comes from God alone, not from having the problem solved. Lie still, breathe slowly, and say the first clause of the verse in your own voice until your body begins to believe it.

Psalm 29:11

The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

(KJV)

This verse pairs strength with peace, showing that God gives both to his people. On a restless night, pray for the strength to get through tomorrow and the peace to rest tonight, and ask for them separately.

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

(KJV)

Paul prays that God would fill believers with peace and joy through trusting him, and the prayer is for hope overflowing. Let this be the last thing you read before turning out the lamp, and ask the Spirit to fill the gap that worry leaves.

Verses for Seasons When Trouble Lasts

Some peace is not found in a single morning or night. These verses speak to long seasons of illness, grief, conflict, or waiting, when peace must be learned again and again.

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

(KJV)

In the middle of a crisis, this verse asks you to stop and know that God is God. Pick one minute each day to sit without your phone and say his name slowly, letting the noise of the situation fall quieter for a while.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

(KJV)

God speaks directly to fear here and answers it with his presence and help. When the long wait wears on you, write this verse on an index card and keep it in your wallet, so it is there in the grocery line and the waiting room alike.

Colossians 3:15

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

(KJV)

Paul asks that the peace of God rule in your heart, which suggests peace can act like a referee in the middle of competing emotions. When two feelings pull against each other, ask which one lets God’s peace be in charge, and choose that response.

Numbers 6:24-26

24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: 25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

(KJV)

This is the priestly blessing that closes with the promise of peace, a benediction you can speak over others. Use it at the end of a phone call with someone who is struggling, or pray it over your children before they leave for school.

How to Use These Verses

Copy a few of these verses onto cards, a notes app, or the inside cover of your Bible. Place them where your eyes land during hard moments, such as the bathroom mirror, the dashboard, or the first page of your planner. Reading the same verse for a full week often does more than skimming fifteen in one sitting.

Pray the verses back to God rather than only reading them. Turn “You will keep him in perfect peace” into “Lord, keep me in perfect peace,” and let the words shape the request. Over time, the verses you pray become the language your own heart uses when fear arrives.

A Short Prayer for God’s Peace

Father, you know the thoughts that crowd my mind and the weight I carry into each day. I bring you the worries I have named and the ones I have not yet put into words. Quiet my heart where it is restless, and steady my mind where it keeps running ahead. Give me the peace that the world cannot give, and help me rest in your faithfulness even when my circumstances stay unsettled. Keep me close today and tonight. Amen.
