This list gives you Bible verses that speak to new beginnings, whether you are starting a new job, a new season of life, a new year, or simply a new day after a hard one. The verses are grouped by situation so you can find the right word for the moment you are in. What they share is a view of God as the one who makes things new and who goes with His people into what comes next.

Verses for Starting Over After a Hard Season

Some beginnings come out of loss, failure or exhaustion. These verses speak to the person who feels they have to rebuild from the rubble and wonders whether anything fresh is still possible.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. 23 They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

Isaiah 43:18-19

18 “Don’t remember the former things, and don’t consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

(WEB)

God tells the exiles not to live only in the past, because He is already doing something new. Write down one old story you keep replaying, then ask God to show you one place where He is opening a path you did not expect.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

(WEB)

Paul says that anyone united with Christ is a new creation, and the old life has passed away. If guilt or shame keeps pulling you back, speak this truth out loud to yourself once a day until it starts to sound like your own voice.

Verses for Trusting God With the Unknown

A new job, a move, a new relationship or a new stage of parenting can bring excitement and fear in equal measure. These verses help you step into the unknown without pretending you have the whole map.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

(WEB)

Commit your way to the Lord and trust Him to act. Choose one task that feels like the start of something unfamiliar and hand it to God in prayer before you begin it.

Verses for a Fresh Start Each Morning

Not every new beginning is dramatic. Many of them arrive quietly, with the alarm at six and the coffee on the counter. These verses are for the ordinary mornings when you need to begin again.

Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

(WEB)

Those who wait on the Lord are promised renewed strength and the ability to keep going. Choose one way to rest this week, whether that is a day without screens or an early night, so you have strength for what is coming.

How to Use These Verses

Write the verses you connect with most on a card and place it where you will see it each morning, such as the bathroom mirror, the steering wheel or the front of a planner. Seeing the words often helps them move from something you read once to something you carry with you.

Read one verse slowly at the start of your day, then pray it back to God in your own words. You might also return to the same verse for a full week when a new beginning feels especially hard, since repetition helps truth settle deep.

A Short Prayer for New Beginnings

Lord, you have made a way for me before, and I trust you to make a way now. I bring you the parts of my life that feel finished and the parts that feel unclear. Teach me to receive each new day as a gift from your hand, and help me to let go of what you have already forgiven and no longer ask me to carry.

Give me courage for the steps I must take and patience for the seasons that are still forming. Renew my mind and steady my heart, so that I can walk forward with hope in you. Amen.
