This list gives you Bible verses about God’s power, arranged by the moments when you most need to remember who God is. It is written for Christians who want to read a few well-chosen passages, understand what they mean, and carry them into an ordinary day. Each group below begins with a situation and then offers verses that speak to it.

What these passages share is a single picture: the power behind the universe is personal, faithful and turned toward the people He made. Read them slowly, and notice that power in Scripture is almost always paired with care.

Verses for the Morning You Feel Too Small for the Day

Some mornings the list of tasks feels heavier than your capacity to carry it. The verses in this group do not tell you to be stronger. They point you to the one who holds the world together and asks you to lean on him.

Isaiah 40:28-29

28 Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.

(WEB)

Isaiah reminds you that the Creator does not grow tired, and that he gives strength to those who feel worn out. Before you open your inbox, say his name aloud and ask him for the strength the day requires.

Ephesians 3:20

Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…

(WEB)

Paul describes a power that works within us and can do far more than we ask or imagine. Write this verse on a card and place it by your coffee so that your first thought is of God’s ability rather than your own limits.

Psalm 62:11

God has spoken once; twice I have heard this, that power belongs to God.

(WEB)

The psalmist hears God speak about power and reads it as a reason to rest in him. When your mind starts listing what could go wrong, pause and repeat the core idea that power belongs to God before you plan the next step.

Verses for When Your Circumstances Look Impossible

Some situations seem closed: a diagnosis, a broken relationship, a debt that will not shrink. These passages remind you that the power of God is not limited by the size of your problem, and they invite you to bring the impossible to him directly.

Jeremiah 32:17

“Ah Lord the LORD! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you…

(WEB)

Jeremiah prays at a moment when Jerusalem seems lost, and he begins by naming God’s power over creation. Try starting your own prayers about a hard situation by naming what God has already made and sustained.

Luke 1:37

For nothing spoken by God is impossible.”

(WEB)

The angel tells Mary that nothing is impossible with God, at a moment when her own future looked uncertain. Keep this verse near the phone you check most often, and let it interrupt the spiral of worst-case thinking.

Matthew 19:26

Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

(WEB)

Jesus says that what is impossible for people is possible for God, after a conversation about something that seemed beyond reach. Bring one specific impossibility to God this week and pray over it by name.

Verses for Facing Fear and Opposition

When people push back or danger seems close, fear rises quickly. The verses here connect God’s power with his presence, so that courage rests on who he is rather than on how strong you feel.

Psalm 46:1-2

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas…

(WEB)

The psalm describes a world shaking apart while the writer declares God a refuge close at hand. When you feel the ground moving under your feet, speak these two verses slowly and let the image of steadiness settle in.

Romans 8:31

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

(WEB)

Paul asks who can stand against those who are for us, pointing to God’s commitment as the answer. Before a difficult conversation, remember that you are not facing it alone and that God’s backing is already in place.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

(WEB)

Paul writes to a young leader who was tempted to shrink back, and he reminds him that God gives power, love and self-discipline. Name one fear you are carrying and ask God to replace it with the spirit Paul describes.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for the LORD your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.”

(WEB)

Moses encourages Israel before they cross into a land full of people they fear, pointing them to God’s presence rather than their own readiness. Remember that the same God goes with you into the place you dread.

Verses for Trusting God With What You Cannot Control

Much of life sits outside our hands: other people’s choices, the weather of the economy, the health of those we love. These verses describe a God whose power extends over all of it, and they invite trust in place of anxious grip.

Job 42:2

“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be restrained.

(WEB)

Job answers God after a long season of suffering, admitting that no plan of God can be thwarted. When you are tempted to demand explanations, let Job’s honest surrender model a posture of humble trust.

Daniel 3:17

If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

(WEB)

The three young men tell the king that their God is able to deliver them, and they add that even if he does not, they will not bow. Hold this together when prayers seem unanswered: God’s power is real whether or not your outcome matches your hope.

Colossians 1:16-17

16 For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.

(WEB)

Paul describes Christ as the one in whom all things hold together. When anxiety insists that everything is falling apart, remind yourself that the same power that made the world is keeping it steady today.

Revelation 19:6

I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns!

(WEB)

John hears a great crowd declaring that the Lord God Almighty reigns. Read this verse at the close of a long day and let it turn your attention from what is unresolved to who is in charge.

How to Use These Verses

Choose two or three verses from one group rather than trying to memorize the whole list at once. Write them on index cards and keep them where you will see them: the bathroom mirror, the dashboard of your car, or the first page of your journal. Reading one verse aloud before a meeting or a hard phone call takes less than a minute and gives your mind a steady anchor.

Return to a verse when the same struggle comes back. Read it slowly, ask God what it means for the specific situation in front of you, and then write down one small action it suggests. Over time you will notice that these passages have become familiar companions rather than distant lines on a page.

A Short Prayer About God’s Power

Lord, you made the heavens and the earth, and nothing in my life is too large for you to hold. I bring you the things I cannot fix and the fears that keep me awake. Remind me that your strength is not thin or uncertain, and let that truth steady my heart this week. Give me courage where I feel weak and trust where I feel tempted to control. Thank you that your power is joined to your faithful love for me. Amen.
