Leviticus 8 records the ordination of Aaron and his sons as priests, the first step in Israel’s worship system after the tabernacle was built. These questions are for small groups, Sunday classes, and personal study. Each set moves from what the text says, to what it means, to how a reader might live it out.
Leviticus 8 at a Glance
The chapter follows a clear sequence. Moses gathers the congregation, then washes Aaron and his sons and dresses Aaron in his priestly garments. He anoints the tabernacle, the altar and Aaron himself with oil, and then offers a sin offering, a burnt offering and a ram of consecration, marking the priests with blood and oil. The chapter closes with a shared meal at the tent entrance and a seven-day waiting period.

A Closing Prayer for the Group
Father, we come to you thankful that you make a way for sinful people to draw near to your holiness. Thank you for the care you showed in every detail of worship, and for the cleansing that comes before service. Help us to take seriously the calling you have given each of us. Teach us to wait well, to obey without grudging, and to give ourselves fully to you. Let what we have read today shape how we live tomorrow. Amen.
