This list gives you Bible verses about being chosen by God, arranged by the moments when that truth matters most: when you feel overlooked, when you doubt you belong, and when you need to remember whose you are. It is written for anyone who has wondered whether God really set his love on them. Each passage speaks of God choosing, calling, or claiming people, not because they earned it, but because of his own faithful purpose.
Verses for When You Feel Overlooked
Some days the world seems to pass you by, and you wonder whether anyone has noticed you at all. These passages remind you that God’s choosing does not depend on how others see you. They speak of his attention, his election, and his decision to set his love on ordinary people.
Deuteronomy 7:6-8
6 For you are a holy people to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth. 7 The LORD didn’t set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples: 8 but because the LORD loves you, and because he desires to keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

How to Use These Verses
Write two or three of these verses on index cards or in the notes app on your phone, and keep them where you will see them: the bathroom mirror, the car dashboard, or the first page of your Bible. Choose verses that match the season you are in, not all fifteen at once. A short card read slowly is more useful than a long list skimmed in a hurry.
Read one verse aloud before a difficult conversation, a long shift, or a hard night, and then pray it back to God in your own words. Try turning the verse into a sentence that begins with “Lord, you chose me, so…” and finish it honestly. Over time you may find that these passages become the first words you reach for when you feel forgotten.
A Short Prayer for Being Chosen by God
Father, thank you that you chose me before I ever chose you. When I feel overlooked, remind me that you see me and know my name. When doubt tells me I do not belong, speak your truth over me and let me rest in the love you set on me in Christ. Shape my life so that I live as one who is chosen, with compassion, patience, and faithfulness toward the people you place around me. Help me trust your purpose even when I cannot see the whole picture. Hold me close today, and let my life tell others about your grace. Amen.
