This list gives you King James Version verses that speak to one of the most steadying truths in the Christian faith: God loves you, personally and without condition. It is written for anyone who needs to hear that love again, whether you feel unnoticed, unworthy, or simply tired. Every passage here points away from your performance and toward the character of the one who loves you. The verses are grouped by the moments in which that truth is hardest to believe.

Verses for When You Feel Unworthy

Many believers quietly assume God’s love must be earned, or that a past failure has placed them outside it. The passages in this group answer that assumption directly. They describe a love that was given first, before any good work, and that does not depend on the strength of your faith on a given day.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(KJV)

This is the most familiar statement of God’s love in Scripture, and it names the price God was willing to pay. When guilt tells you that you have stepped too far outside His reach, read this slowly and notice the word “world.” Then write your own name in the place of that word and read it again.

Romans 5:8

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

(KJV)

Paul makes the point that God’s love was shown while we were still sinners, not after we had cleaned ourselves up. That changes how you approach Him on a bad day. Try going to prayer tomorrow without first trying to justify yourself, and simply receive the love that was already given.

1 John 4:10

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

(KJV)

John shifts the focus from our search for God to God’s initiative toward us. The love in view is the kind that sends a sacrifice, which means it is not a passing mood. Keep this verse on a card in your wallet for the moments when you wonder whether your effort is what keeps you accepted.

Verses for Times of Fear and Uncertainty

Being loved by God is not only a comfort in good seasons. It is a foundation for facing what you cannot control. The verses in this section speak to anxiety, loss, and the sense that the ground is shifting under you, and they connect God’s love with His ongoing presence and care.

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(KJV)

Paul lists death, life, angels, powers, height, depth, and anything else in creation, then declares that none of them can separate you from God’s love. Use this passage as a checklist when fear names its threats. Go through the list out loud and say after each item that it cannot do what it claims.

Psalm 136:26

O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

(KJV)

This verse repeats the phrase “his mercy endureth for ever,” a refrain that ends each line of the psalm. The repetition is deliberate, meant to be said again and again. Pick one morning this week and say the refrain aloud while you drive or make coffee, letting the repetition steady your thoughts.

Isaiah 43:4

Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

(KJV)

God speaks here to a people in exile, telling them that He has loved them and will give other peoples in exchange for them. The language is strong because the feeling behind it is strong. When you are afraid of being forgotten, read this and let it remind you that your worth is named by God, not by circumstance.

Verses for Daily Remembering

A truth you believe on Sunday can fade by Wednesday. This group of verses is meant to be returned to in ordinary moments, the kind of repetition that builds a habit of trust over time. They speak of God’s love as something to be noticed and rested in throughout the week.

Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

(KJV)

This verse pictures God rejoicing over His people with singing, a remarkable image of delight. Most people find it hard to imagine God pleased with them, so spend a minute with the picture. Try to notice one small thing today that you could imagine Him delighting in.

Jeremiah 31:3

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying , Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

(KJV)

The phrase “with lovingkindness have I drawn thee” describes a patient, persistent pull rather than a demand. God’s love is shown as the force that brought you near. Read this verse at the start of prayer and let it set the tone: you are coming to someone who has already been reaching toward you.

Ephesians 3:17-19

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

(KJV)

Paul prays that believers would grasp how wide, long, deep, and high God’s love is, and that they would know a love that surpasses knowledge. The prayer assumes that love can be known more deeply over time. Set aside a few quiet minutes this week to ask God to help you grasp more of it than you did last month.

1 John 3:1

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

(KJV)

John marvels that God has bestowed His love so that we should be called His children. The verse treats the relationship as a gift and an identity, not a probation. When you forget who you belong to, speak this verse over yourself and let your name sit inside it.

How to Use These Verses

Start by writing three or four of these verses on index cards or in the notes app on your phone. Place them where you will see them without searching: beside the bathroom mirror, on the dashboard, or as your lock screen. A verse you encounter by accident in an ordinary moment often does more work than one you read only at a scheduled time.

When you pray with these passages, read the verse slowly, then pause on one phrase that stands out. Turn that phrase into a short sentence addressed to God, such as “You love me as I am.” Repeat it quietly over several breaths. You do not need a long prayer to receive a long love.

A Short Prayer for being loved by god

Lord, I confess that I do not always feel loved by You. Some days I measure my worth by what I have done well or badly, and I forget that Your love came to me first. Thank You that it does not rise and fall with my mood or my record. Help me to receive it today as a gift and not a wage. Where fear has told me I am forgotten, speak Your truth into that fear. Let me rest in the knowledge that nothing can separate me from You. Amen.
