This night prayer is for the people who work under your leadership, whether you run a small shop, manage a team, or own a business with a payroll to meet. Pray it in the evening, once the day’s decisions have been made and before you lie down, so that you can set down the weight of their jobs and their worries in God’s hands. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak in your own words.

Night Prayer for My Employees

Lord, the day is ending, and I bring You the people who worked for me today. Thank You for each of them, for the skill they bring, for the effort they gave when the work was hard and the schedule was tight. Thank You for the ones who showed up early, for the ones who stayed late, and for the ones who quietly carried more than their share. Some of them are carrying things I cannot see: a sick parent, a child who is struggling, a bill that arrived too early in the month, a marriage under strain. Be near to them tonight. Give them rest that reaches past their sleep and into their hearts.

Father, I also ask forgiveness for the ways I fell short of them today. Where I was impatient, where I spoke harshly, where I was too busy to listen or too proud to admit a mistake, forgive me, and help me make things right tomorrow. Give me a steady heart and fair hands in the days ahead. Protect them tonight from accidents, from fear, and from the restless thoughts that keep people awake. Guard their homes and their families while they sleep. Let them wake refreshed, ready for what the new day brings. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Lord, thank You for the people who work with me. Thank You for their effort today and for the ways they helped me. Forgive me where I failed them. Now give them rest tonight, keep them safe on the roads and in their homes, and calm whatever worries are keeping them awake. Help me lead them well tomorrow. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Psalm 4:8

In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, the LORD alone, make me live in safety.

(WEB)

Pray this verse over your team as they lie down. It names the peace that God gives in the night, the kind that does not depend on whether the business had a good quarter or a difficult week.

Psalm 127:2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones.

(WEB)

Use this verse to release the people you lead from the belief that everything depends on their anxious striving. Ask God to give them rest as a gift, not something they must earn.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

(WEB)

Bring the worries of your employees to God in prayer, naming each concern you know about. Ask for the peace that guards hearts and minds to settle over them tonight.

Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

(WEB)

Pray this for the weary ones on your staff, the ones carrying more than they say out loud. Ask Jesus to draw them to Himself and to lighten what they have been bearing alone.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

(WEB)

Ask God to guide the decisions you will make for your employees tomorrow. Pray that you would trust Him more than your own understanding when hiring, firing, scheduling, or resolving conflict.

How to Pray This Prayer

Pray this prayer in the last quiet minutes of your day, after you have closed the laptop or locked the store and before you turn off the light. If you can, sit at the kitchen table or on the edge of the bed with a pen and a notepad beside you. Write down the names of two or three employees whose situations are on your mind, and read those names aloud as you pray. Writing them down keeps the prayer specific rather than general.

If you share a home with a spouse or a business partner, pray it together, taking turns with the names. You might also ask a trusted friend or a pastor to pray for your team on the nights when you feel too tired to speak. Keep a copy of the prayer somewhere you will see it, and return to it whenever the pressure of leadership starts to press in again.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord watch over those who worked for you today and keep them through the night. May they wake with strength, with clear minds, and with hope for what lies ahead. May the Lord who never sleeps guard their homes, their families, and their sleep, and may He make your own rest as sure as theirs.
