This prayer is for the moments when you feel tired in body, mind or spirit and do not have the energy to find your own words. You can pray it in the morning before the day takes hold, during a lunch break, or late at night when sleep will not come. Read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak your own honest words to God afterward.
Prayer When You Feel Tired
Lord, I come to you tired. My body feels heavy, and my mind keeps running through the list of things I have not finished and the people I have not been able to help. I am worn down by small demands that add up, by the sleep I did not get, and by the quiet worry that I am falling behind everyone else. You see all of it, and nothing about my weariness surprises you or makes you turn away.
So I stop trying to carry it on my own strength for a moment. I give you the tasks I cannot finish today, the decisions that keep me awake, and the relationships that feel strained because I have nothing left to give. Show me what is truly mine to do and what I can set down. Give me patience with my family, honesty about my limits, and the courage to ask for help when I need it.
Renew what is worn thin in me. Let my rest be real rest, and let my strength come from you rather than from my own pushing. When I am tired of trying, remind me that I am still yours and that you are still at work in my life. Amen.
A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment
Lord, I am tired right now, and I do not have much to offer. Take what little energy I have and make it enough for this next hour. Help me with the one thing in front of me, and give me rest where I can find it. I trust that you are with me in this weariness, and I receive the strength you promise to give. Amen.

How to Pray This Prayer
Choose a time when you can pause without being interrupted, even if it is only two minutes. Sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of water or a warm drink helps your body settle, and resting your hands in your lap or holding a cool glass can make the words easier to focus on. If you are at work, step away to a stairwell or a parked car and pray quietly with your eyes open.
You can also pray this prayer with someone else. A spouse, a close friend or a member of your church can read it aloud with you, or take turns praying a sentence each. Hearing someone else speak your weariness to God often lightens the load, and it reminds you that you were never meant to carry everything alone.
A Blessing to Close
May the Lord who never grows weary meet you in your tiredness and give you rest that goes deeper than sleep. May he steady your steps, quiet your restless thoughts, and fill you with strength for what is ahead. May you go forward today knowing that you are held, seen and loved.
