This morning prayer is for the people you lead, supervise, or work alongside, asking God to go before them into their tasks, conversations, and pressures. Pray it at the start of your workday, before the first meeting or the first email, or as you drive in. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak to God in your own words about the particular people on your team.

Morning Prayers for My Employees

Lord, I bring my employees to you before the day begins. Some of them are already anxious about deadlines, a customer who will call with a complaint, or a conversation they have been dreading with a manager. Others are carrying things at home that they will not mention at work: a sick parent, a marriage under strain, a child who did not sleep well. You know each of their names and each of their burdens. Go before them this morning and make the way smoother than they fear it will be.

Give them clear minds for the work in front of them. Where they are tired, give them strength; where they are unsure, give them wisdom; where they are tempted to cut corners or to speak harshly to a colleague, give them self-control and a gentle tongue. Help them to do their work as unto you and not only for a paycheck or an approval. Let them find some small joy in the tasks of this day, and let them rest well tonight.

Make me a leader who is fair, patient, and honest with them. Show me where I have been careless with my words or quick to judge, and give me the humility to make things right. Let them see something of your steadiness in the way I treat them, and let my attitude toward them reflect the grace I have received. Protect every person who comes through our doors or onto our calls today from harm, and bring us all home safely. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Lord, my team is walking into this day with their own worries and their own weight. Go before each of them and steady their hands and their hearts. Give them patience with one another and courage for the hard conversations. Let my words to them today be honest and kind, and help us all to do our work with integrity and peace. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Psalm 121:8

The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more.

(WEB)

Pray this verse over your team as they leave home and come into the building or log on for the day. Ask the Lord to guard their going out and their coming in, not only physically on the road but in every meeting and task they will face.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

(WEB)

Use this passage when your employees face decisions they cannot yet see the outcome of. Ask God to keep them from relying only on their own understanding and to make their paths straight as they choose their next steps.

Philippians 2:3-4

3 Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; 4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

(WEB)

This verse is a helpful prayer for working relationships. Ask that your employees would look out for one another’s interests today, especially in moments of disagreement or competition over credit and workload.

Colossians 3:23

And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men…

(WEB)

Pray this for the quality of work your team produces and the attitude they bring to it. Ask God to help them work wholeheartedly, even on tasks that feel small or unnoticed, knowing their labor is ultimately offered to him.

Galatians 6:9

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.

(WEB)

Use this verse for employees who feel worn down by repetitive or discouraging work. Pray that they would not grow weary in doing good and that they would see the fruit of their faithfulness in God’s time.

How to Pray This Prayer

Pray this prayer while you are still at home, at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, or in your car before you walk in. Choosing a quiet, unhurried moment helps you slow down enough to think of the actual people on your team and their specific situations. If you have a list of names or a calendar for the day, keep it nearby and let your eyes move across it as you speak.

You can also invite others to pray with you, such as a spouse, a friend, or a small group from your church who know your workplace. Consider praying for one employee by name each morning for a week, so that over time you know their needs well. Keep a pen handy to note anything the Lord brings to mind, and follow up with a kind word or a practical offer of help when the day allows.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord bless each person on this team and keep them in every task they face today. May he make his face shine upon them, give them peace in the middle of pressure, and send them home at the end of the day knowing they were seen, valued, and held by a faithful God.
