This short morning prayer is for asking God to bless your boss, guide their decisions and give them peace before the day begins. Pray it over coffee, in the car on the way in, or at your desk before the first meeting. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak more freely in your own words.

Short Morning Prayer for My Boss

Lord, thank you for this new morning and for the work you have placed before us today. I lift up my boss to you. You know the weight they carry, the deadlines pressing on them, the people who depend on their judgment, and the decisions waiting in their inbox before the first cup of coffee is cold. Give them clear thinking and a steady heart. Where they feel stretched thin, meet them with your strength, and where they feel unsure, give them wisdom that comes from you and not only from their own reasoning.

Father, go before them into every meeting today. Soften the hard conversations and open the ears of the people in the room. Protect them from pride when things go well and from despair when they do not. If there are tensions with coworkers, bring honesty and grace to those moments. Remind them that they are more than their job title and that their worth rests in you. Let them leave work tonight with a sense that you were present in the room all day.

Thank you that you hear this prayer, even before I finish speaking it. I trust you with my boss and with the things I cannot control. Help me to work well, speak kindly and serve faithfully today, so that my own conduct reflects your care. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Lord, bless my boss this morning. Give them clear thoughts, patience with the people around them and wisdom for the decisions ahead. Go before them into each meeting and each call. Guard their peace and their family, and let them sense your nearness today. Help me to work faithfully and to speak kindly. Amen.

How to Pray This Prayer

Pray this prayer before you open your email or walk into the office, while the day still feels quiet. If you are at home, a chair by the window or a corner of the kitchen table works well. Keep a pen nearby so you can write down anything your boss is facing that God brings to mind, and return to those notes when you pray again later in the week.

You might ask a friend, spouse or small group to pray this prayer for your boss too, especially on days you know will be difficult. Holding your boss before God together can ease the pressure of working alongside someone you care about. Whether or not your boss is a believer, you can pray for them faithfully, trusting God to work in their life and in the workplace.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord go before your boss today and walk with them through every task and conversation. May he give them clarity, patience and a peaceful heart. May they feel known by God and carry his grace into everything they do.
