This short morning prayer is for asking God’s help with the people you lead, the staff who depend on you, and the decisions waiting on your desk. Pray it before the first email is opened, the first meeting starts, or the first shift begins. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and put your own names and worries into the blanks.
Short Morning Prayer for My Employees
Lord, thank You for this new day and for the people You have placed in my care at work. Before I open my laptop or walk onto the floor, I bring each of them to You. I ask You to go ahead of them this morning. Give the early shift a steady start, and help the one who is worried about a sick parent to feel supported rather than alone. Be near the employee who is struggling with a hard task, and give them the focus and courage to keep going.
Give me wisdom in how I speak to them today. Keep my words patient when I am tired, honest when something needs correcting, and encouraging when someone has done well. Show me who needs a word of thanks, who needs a few minutes of my time, and who needs me simply to listen. Guard me from playing favorites, from making assumptions, and from treating people as numbers on a schedule. Let them see Your kindness in the way I treat them.
Lord, I also ask for Your help with the decisions I face. Where things are uncertain, give me clarity. Where conflict is building, give me a calm heart and a fair mind. Keep my own pride and anxiety from shaping how I lead. Whatever this day brings, may my employees and I finish it more aware of Your presence than when we began. Amen.
A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment
Father, I’m walking into work and my team is already on my mind. Go before each of them today. Give them strength for what is hard and grace for what goes wrong. Help me speak with patience, listen well, and be fair to everyone. Lead me in the decisions I need to make, and let my work this day honor You. Amen.

How to Pray This Prayer
Pray this prayer in the few quiet minutes before you start your workday, whether that is in your car in the parking lot, at your kitchen table with coffee, or at your desk before anyone else arrives. Keep a short list of your employees’ names nearby and say each one aloud as you pray, so that you are praying for real people with real concerns and not for a vague group.
If you have hands free, consider holding your planner, a list of tasks, or the keys to the building as you pray, letting the physical object remind you to entrust your responsibilities to God. A manager, team lead, or business partner could also pray this prayer with you, or you could share it with a colleague who will pray it for you in return.
A Blessing to Close
May the Lord go before each person on your team today and walk beside them in every task. May He give them strength when they are weary, peace when they are anxious, and good company in every shift. May He bless the work of their hands and keep them safe as they go and come.
