This morning prayer is written for single men who want to bring the day ahead to God before the phone, the inbox and the noise of the world take over. Pray it when you first wake, in the car before work, or at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak in your own words.

Morning Prayers for Single Men

Lord, I am waking up to another day, and I want to give it to you before I give it to anything else. You know the quiet evenings that have stretched longer than I expected, and the moments when I wonder whether I will ever share my life with someone. Settle my heart this morning. Remind me that my worth does not depend on my relationship status, and that you have not forgotten me.

Be with me in the ordinary things I will face today. Go before me at work, in the meetings and deadlines, and help me to be honest and diligent. Give me patience with the people I will meet, my friends, my family, and the stranger in line. When I feel lonely, let me turn to you instead of numbing it. When I am tempted to compare my path with others, help me see the life you have actually given me. Guard my thoughts and my hands and my words. Help me to serve the people around me with generosity, and to trust that you are shaping me even in the seasons I cannot yet understand. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Father, I start this day in your hands. Walk with me through the hours ahead, and keep me steady when I feel alone. Help me work with integrity, speak with kindness, and treat others the way you would. Let me trust that my life is held by you, whatever tomorrow brings. Amen.

Pray this for the people you will meet today. Ask God to help you act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with him in your conversations, your work and your friendships.

How to Pray This Prayer

Choose a consistent time each morning, even if it is only five minutes before you check your phone. Sit in a chair near a window, or stand in the kitchen while the coffee brews. Keeping your hands busy, such as holding a mug or writing the day’s three priorities on a notepad, can help your attention stay on the words rather than drifting to your to-do list.

Consider praying this alongside a trusted friend, a brother from church, or a small men’s group who also live as single men. Ask them to pray for you on the days you feel most isolated, and offer to do the same for them. Shared prayer reminds you that you are not carrying your season alone.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord go before you today and keep watch over your going out and your coming in. May he steady your heart, give you wisdom for each decision, and remind you that you belong to him every hour of this day.
