This bedtime prayer for spiritual healing is written for the end of a long day, when the mind is still busy and the heart is carrying something heavy. Pray it in the last quiet minutes before you sleep, either reading it aloud as it is written or using it as a starting point for your own words. Either way, it asks God to restore what has been worn down, to release you from the day, and to keep watch over you through the night.

Bedtime Prayer for Spiritual Healing

Lord, I come to you at the end of this day, tired in body and tired in spirit. Some things went well and some did not. Some words I spoke should have been kinder, and some worries have followed me all the way to my bed. I ask you to take them from my hands tonight. Where I have felt far from you, draw me close again. Where I have grown numb or discouraged, breathe new life into my faith, the way you breathe life into dry ground after rain.

I bring you the parts of my soul that feel bruised. I name the fear that keeps returning, the doubt that whispers I am alone, and the old habits of resentment and shame I cannot seem to shake. Heal what is broken inside me, Father. Mend the places where my trust has cracked, and teach me to rest in your love instead of striving to earn it. Let my heart be quiet enough to hear you.

Watch over me while I sleep. Guard my mind from restless thoughts, and let my dreams, if I dream, be gentle. Thank you for the mercy that meets me again each morning, and for the grace that covers what I could not do well today. I give you this night, and I give you myself. Make me whole, Lord, and let me wake ready to walk with you again. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Father, I am tired and I need you to heal what is hurting inside me. Take the worries I carried today and the weight I have been trying to hold alone. Restore my peace and strengthen my faith, and keep me safe through the night. Thank you for being near even when I cannot feel you. Let me rest in your care. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Psalm 147:3

He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

(WEB)

Read this slowly and let it become your prayer. Ask God to bind up the places in your heart that still ache, trusting that he knows exactly where the wounds are and is able to tend them.

Psalm 4:8

In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, the LORD alone, make me live in safety.

(WEB)

Pray this as you lie down, releasing the day to God. Ask him to give you the kind of rest that comes from knowing you are safe in his keeping, even when sleep feels hard to find.

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.

(WEB)

Bring your scattered thoughts to God in prayer and ask him to steady your mind. Let this verse guide you to fix your attention on his faithfulness rather than on the worries that keep circling.

Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

(WEB)

Hear Jesus speaking directly to you at the end of a weary day. Offer him your exhaustion, your sorrow, and your spiritual fatigue, and ask him to give you the rest only he can provide.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. 23 They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

(WEB)

Pray this in gratitude for God’s steady mercy. Thank him that his compassion does not run out, and ask him to renew your hope so that you can face tomorrow with fresh trust in his faithfulness.

How to Pray This Prayer

Choose a fixed place for this prayer, such as the edge of your bed, a chair by a lamp, or the spot where you plug in your phone and put it away. Keep the phone out of reach and turn off the screens for at least a few minutes beforehand. Settling into the same place each night helps your body and mind recognize that the day is ending and you are turning toward God.

Try holding something in your hands while you pray, such as a folded blanket, a smooth stone, or your own open palms resting on your lap. Read the prayer aloud slowly, pausing after each sentence to let it sink in. If someone in your household or a close friend also wants to grow in faith, invite them to pray it with you or to pray it for you in their own words.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord who keeps watch over Israel keep watch over you tonight. May he heal what is weary in your spirit, quiet every anxious thought, and wrap you in a peace that does not depend on circumstances. May you wake refreshed, held, and ready for the new day he has already prepared.
