This bedtime prayer is for the people you lead and answer for at work, the ones who carry deadlines, worries and tired families home with them. Pray it in the evening, after the day’s last email or as you turn off the lights, to hand those people to God before you sleep. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak in your own words.

Bedtime Prayer for My Employees

Lord, the day is ending, and I bring my team to You before I close my eyes. Some of them are lying awake right now thinking about a missed target, a difficult conversation with a manager, or a bill that will not balance this month. Some are caring for a sick parent, a child who is struggling at school, or a marriage that feels strained. Be near to each of them tonight. Quiet the replaying of meetings and the lists that keep growing in their minds.

Father, give them rest that is deeper than sleep alone. Where anyone has been anxious about their job, their health or their future, speak peace into that fear and remind them that You know every detail of their days. Guard their homes and their bodies while they sleep. Keep accidents, illness and harm far from their families, and let their children and loved ones feel Your nearness too. If anyone is hurting in ways they have not told me, You already see it, so meet them there.

Thank You for the work we did today, and for the gifts You have placed in each person I lead. Forgive me for the moments I was short with someone or failed to listen well, and help me make things right tomorrow. Let us all wake refreshed and ready to serve with patience and honesty. Thank You that I can rest, because You are the One who keeps watch over us all. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Father, my team is tired tonight, and so am I. Settle their minds and quiet their worries about work and money. Watch over their families and their sleep, and keep them safe until morning. Forgive my failures today and give us all a fresh start tomorrow. Thank You that You never sleep and never leave us. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Psalm 4:8

In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, the LORD alone, make me live in safety.

(WEB)

Pray this over your team as a reminder that safe rest comes from God’s protection, not from their own vigilance. Ask Him to let each person lie down without fear tonight.

Psalm 127:2

It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones.

(WEB)

Use this verse to ask God to free your employees from the habit of working through every hour of the night. Pray that they would trust Him enough to stop and sleep.

Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

(WEB)

Bring to God the people who feel weighed down by work, debt or family pressure. Ask Jesus to call them to Himself and to give them the rest He promises.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

(WEB)

Pray this for anyone on your team who is anxious about the future. Ask God to replace their worry with a peace that steadies their heart and mind through the night.

Psalm 121:3-4

3 He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

(WEB)

Speak this over your employees as a prayer for protection while they sleep. Ask the Lord, who never slumbers, to keep watch over their homes and bodies until morning.

How to Pray This Prayer

Pray this at the end of your own workday, ideally in a quiet place such as your bedroom, a car before you go inside, or a chair by the window. Before you start, you might pull up a list of names or simply picture the faces of the people on your team. Speaking the names aloud helps you pray for them specifically rather than in general terms.

Your hands can help you stay focused. Hold a pen and write down anyone you know is facing a particular struggle, then place the paper on your nightstand as a visible reminder. A spouse, a close friend or a small prayer group can also pray this with you, so that the burden of your team is shared rather than carried alone.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord bless each person on this team and keep them through the night. May He grant them rest that refreshes body and spirit, and may they wake to a morning full of hope and good work. May His peace guard their hearts and their homes until the sun rises again.
