This is a daily prayer for your marriage, written for the ordinary mornings and evenings when you want to bring your spouse, your home, and your love before God. You can pray it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak in your own words. It works well at the start of the day, before a hard conversation, or at night when you are tired and do not know what else to say.

Daily Prayer for My Marriage

Lord, thank You for the gift of this marriage. You knew what we would need long before we did, and You have been present in every season we have walked through together. Today I bring my spouse before You. Give them rest in body and peace in mind. Protect their work, their health, and their heart from anything that would drain them or pull them away from You. Where they carry worries I cannot see, meet them there.

Father, I also bring our life together. Help us to listen more than we speak, to forgive quickly, and to assume the best when we are tired or misunderstood. Soften my own heart where it has grown hard or defensive. Show me the small ways I can serve my spouse today without keeping score. Guard our bond against bitterness, distraction, and the quiet drift that comes when no one is paying attention. Make our home a place of warmth and honesty, where we can both be known and loved.

Thank You that You are faithful to us even when we fail each other. Fill us with patience, kindness, and a willingness to start again. Let our love grow deeper with each year, and let it point others toward the love You have shown us. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Lord, bless my marriage today. Be with my spouse wherever they are and keep them safe. Help me to speak gently, to listen well, and to choose love when I feel tired or annoyed. Forgive my failures, and help us both to forgive as we have been forgiven. Hold our home together by Your strength. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.

(WEB)

Pray this for the partnership you share. Ask God to make your marriage a place where you help each other up when one of you falls, and where neither of you has to face hard seasons alone.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

4 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, 5 doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 6 doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

(WEB)

Read this slowly and let each quality become a request. Ask God to produce this kind of patient, kind, and enduring love in both of you, especially on the days it feels most difficult.

Ephesians 4:2-3

2 With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; 3 being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

(WEB)

Use this verse to pray for humility and gentleness in your conversations. Ask the Spirit to help you both keep the peace that holds your marriage together when tension rises.

Colossians 3:13

Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

(WEB)

Bring any unresolved hurt to God through this verse. Ask Him to give you both the grace to forgive as the Lord has forgiven you, and to release old wounds that keep you distant.

Proverbs 31:10-12

10 Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain. 12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

(WEB)

Pray this as a blessing and a commitment over your spouse. Ask God to help you honor, trust, and encourage one another in ways that build up your shared life.

How to Pray This Prayer

Choose a regular time each day, such as while the coffee brews in the morning or in the quiet minutes after you turn off the lights at night. Sit somewhere you will not be interrupted, and keep a small notebook nearby if you want to write down answers, changes, or specific needs your spouse has shared. Some couples find it helpful to hold hands or rest a hand on the other’s shoulder while praying.

If your spouse is willing, invite them to pray with you or to add a sentence of their own. You might also ask a trusted friend, mentor, or small group to pray for your marriage on a regular basis. Praying together and being prayed for by others can strengthen your bond and keep you accountable to God’s purposes for your life together.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord bless this marriage and keep it strong. May He fill this home with peace, grace, and laughter, and may both spouses grow closer to Him and to each other with every passing day. May their love be steady, honest, and kind, and may it bring glory to God in all things.
