This is a morning prayer for your wife’s work, meant to be prayed before she leaves the house or sits down at her desk. It can be read aloud exactly as written, or you can use it as a starting point and speak in your own words about the particular people, deadlines and worries she will carry into the day.

Morning Prayers for My Wife’s Work

Lord, thank you for this new morning and for the work you have placed in my wife’s hands. Before she has answered a single message or walked into a single meeting, I bring her to you. Go before her today. Settle the restlessness she may already feel about the list in front of her, and remind her that her worth does not rise and fall with her output.

Give her clear thinking when decisions are hard and the right words when she has to speak. Where she must be patient with colleagues, supervisors or clients, give her a gentle heart and a steady tongue. Protect her from carelessness, from pride and from the quiet temptation to cut corners when no one is watching. Let her work be honest, diligent and kind.

Whatever she faces today, whether a difficult conversation, a tight deadline or an ordinary stack of tasks, let her know that you are with her in it. Guard her energy, provide what she lacks, and bring her home at the end of the day with a thankful heart. In your name I pray. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Father, my wife is heading into her work today, and I ask you to walk with her. Give her wisdom for what she must decide, patience with those who frustrate her, and peace when the pressure rises. Let her do her work faithfully and with a good spirit, and let her feel your nearness throughout the day. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Colossians 3:23

And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men…

(WEB)

Pray that your wife will bring her whole effort to each task today, not only to be seen by people, but because she is serving the Lord in the work he has given her. Ask that this would shape how she approaches even the smallest responsibility.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

(WEB)

Pray that she will not rely only on her own understanding when decisions crowd in. Ask God to direct her paths as she makes choices at work, large and small, and to help her trust him in the moments when the way forward is unclear.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

(WEB)

Pray this when anxiety about deadlines, reviews or difficult people begins to build. Ask that she would bring each concern to God in prayer, and that his peace would guard her heart and mind as she moves through the workday.

Psalm 90:17

Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands.

(WEB)

Pray that the work of her hands would be established and that God’s favor would rest on what she builds today. Ask that her labor would bear lasting fruit, not because she has earned it, but because God delights to bless faithful work.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going.

(WEB)

Pray that your wife will give her full energy to whatever task is in front of her now, rather than dreading the whole day at once. Ask God to help her see each hour as a place to serve him with wholehearted effort.

How to Pray This Prayer

Pray this prayer while your wife is still at home, perhaps over coffee, in the car before she starts the engine, or standing together by the door. Holding her hand or resting your hand on her shoulder can make the moment feel shared and tangible. If she is not a morning person, you might pray quietly for her while she gets ready, then speak the words aloud once she is ready to hear them.

You might also invite others to pray it with you. A friend, a small group, or a family member who knows her workplace can pray the same words for her during their own morning. Consider keeping a short note of the specific people and situations she mentioned that week, so your prayers stay current and personal rather than general.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord go before her into this day and stand beside her in every task. May he give her clarity, kindness and steady strength, and may she feel his peace settle over her as she works. May she come home knowing she was held the whole way through.
