These prayers are for anyone who runs a business, whether it is a shop, a practice, a freelance trade, or a company with employees. You can pray them in the morning before the phone starts ringing, during a stressful week, or when a decision feels heavier than you can carry. Read them aloud as written, or use them as a starting point and add the names of your clients, staff, and concerns.

Prayers for My Business

Lord, this business is something I have built with my hands and my hopes, but I know it belongs to You. Thank You for the customers who trust me, the people who work alongside me, and the daily bread that comes through this work. Help me to run it with honesty, so that every invoice, every contract, and every promise I make reflects Your character. Guard me from greed and from fear, and keep me from measuring my worth by sales figures alone.

Give me wisdom for the decisions in front of me, especially the ones I cannot yet see clearly. Where I am tempted to cut corners, give me the courage to do what is right even when it costs me. Where I am tired, renew my strength. Bless the people I depend on and the people who depend on me. Keep our team healthy, our work excellent, and our hearts humble. Make this business a place where people are treated fairly and where Your goodness is seen in how we serve.

When the numbers are hard and the path is unclear, remind me that my security does not rest in this company. Teach me to trust You with the outcome and to work faithfully with the time You give. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Father, I bring my business to You again. Give me wisdom for the next decision, patience with the people around me, and honesty in everything I say and sign. Help me to work as unto You and not for applause or fear. Let my trust rest in You, and let the work of my hands serve others well today. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Pray this when you face a business decision you cannot fully predict. Ask God to take the places where you lean on your own judgment and to make your paths straight in His hands.

23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Use this verse to pray over the daily work itself. Ask the Lord to help you do each task with diligence, knowing that your ultimate employer is Christ.

Psalm 90:17

Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands.

(WEB)

Pray this for the fruit of your labor. Ask that the work of your hands would be established and would reflect the beauty and kindness of the Lord.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans shall succeed.

(WEB)

Micah 6:8

He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

(WEB)

Pray this verse when you are tempted to compromise. Ask God to make you just in your dealings, merciful toward others, and humble before Him in every part of your work.

How to Pray This Prayer

Many business owners find it helpful to pray before opening the shop, logging on, or unlocking the office door. Sit for a moment in a quiet chair or at your desk with a cup of coffee in your hands, and read the main prayer slowly. Then pause and name specific clients, staff members, or deadlines that are on your mind.

You might also keep a short written copy of the shorter prayer near your register, on your phone’s lock screen, or inside your planner. If you have a business partner, spouse, or trusted friend, ask them to pray this with you on a regular basis. Shared prayer can help you carry the weight of the work together.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord who gave you this work give you wisdom for every decision and peace in every hard season. May He bless the people you serve and the people who serve with you. May your business be a place where integrity and kindness grow, and may His favor rest on the work of your hands.
