This morning prayer is for anyone who leads, manages, or simply keeps an eye on the people who work for them. Pray it before your first meeting, your first email, or your first walk onto the floor, while the day is still quiet. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and put your own names and concerns into it.
Morning Prayer for My Employees
Lord, I come to you before the day gets loud. You already know the names of the people who will walk through our doors today, and you know the things they are carrying that I cannot see. Be with Maria as she goes into a hard conversation with her family before her shift. Steady Daniel’s hands on the job, and give him patience with the customer who has been rude to him all week. Keep Priya’s mind clear as she works through the numbers that are due by noon.
Give each of them a sense of dignity in their work, Father, so that no one feels invisible or replaceable. Where there is tension between coworkers, bring honest words and a willingness to listen. Where someone is struggling with health, money, grief, or fear, let them feel that they are not alone in it, and send the help they need through people and resources that you prepare. Help me to lead with fairness, patience, and clarity, and to notice the people who are quietly doing more than their share.
Guard their safety and their rest, and remind me that they are more than their output. Let our workplace be a place where honesty is welcome, mistakes can be made right, and kindness is practiced when no one is watching. Go before us into every task today. Amen.
A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment
Lord, you know the people on my team by name. Be with them today in their work, their worries, and their families. Give them strength for what is hard, wisdom for what is unclear, and kindness toward one another. Help me to lead them well and to see them the way you do. Amen.

How to Pray This Prayer
Pray it at the start of the workday, ideally in the few minutes before the first meeting or before you unlock the office or start the shift. A quiet cup of coffee at the kitchen table or a short pause in your parked car works well too. Keep a written list of your employees’ names and current concerns nearby, so you can pray for them specifically rather than in general terms.
If you have a role that allows it, invite a trusted coworker or a spouse to pray it with you, or share the prayer with your team in a short huddle if your workplace welcomes that kind of thing. Some managers keep a printed copy of the prayer in a desk drawer and read it with their hands resting on the desk, which can help them slow down before the day’s first decision. Pray it again whenever a difficult situation arises.
A Blessing to Close
May the Lord go before each person you lead today and make their work steady and their hearts at peace. May he grant them wisdom in what is unclear, courage in what is hard, and grace toward one another. May he be their strength when they are tired and their encouragement when they are discouraged. May their days be blessed.
