These prayers are written for parents, stepparents, grandparents and anyone who loves a teenage daughter and wants to bring her before God. Pray them in the morning before the house wakes up, at the kitchen table after she leaves for school, or late at night when worry keeps you awake. You can read them aloud exactly as written, or use them as a starting point and speak in your own words.

Prayers for a Teenage Daughter

Father, I bring my daughter to You today. She is growing up fast, and some days I feel like I am losing sight of who she is becoming. Give her a clear sense of who she is in You, so that she does not have to measure her worth by mirrors, messages on her phone, or what her friends think of her this week. Guard her heart from comparison and from the cruelty that can come so easily between young people. When she feels left out or unseen, let her know that You see her completely and delight in her.

Lord, give her wisdom for the choices that are coming at her faster than she can sort them out: who to trust, what to say yes to, when to walk away. Surround her with friends who build her up and mentors who speak truth with love. Where she is struggling with anxiety, sadness, or anger, draw near to her and steady her breathing and her thoughts. Help her to talk to me, and help me to listen without rushing to fix everything. Keep her safe in body and spirit, and make her brave enough to stand for what is right. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Lord, my daughter is in my thoughts right now. Calm her heart, give her wisdom for whatever she is facing, and surround her with people who love her well. Help her know that she is Yours and deeply loved, not because of what she does but because of who You are. Keep her close today and tomorrow. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Psalm 139:13-14

13 For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.

(WEB)

Pray this verse by thanking God that He made your daughter with care and intention. When she doubts her body, her looks, or her worth, return to these words and ask Him to remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

(WEB)

Ask God to help your daughter trust Him when her own plans feel uncertain or when she is tempted to lean only on what she feels or knows. Pray that she would learn to bring her decisions to Him early, not only after things go wrong.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

(WEB)

Use this passage when your daughter is anxious about school, friendships, or the future. Pray that she would learn to hand her worries to God in prayer, and that His peace would guard her heart and mind even when circumstances stay hard.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

(WEB)

Pray that your daughter would find strength in the Lord when she feels weary, discouraged, or worn down by pressure. Ask God to renew her energy and hope, so she can keep going without losing heart.

Romans 12:2

Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

(WEB)

Ask God to shape your daughter’s mind so that she is not pressed into the mold of this age, with its constant pressure to fit in. Pray that she would grow in discernment and recognize what is good, pleasing, and true.

How to Pray This Prayer

Choose a regular time when you can be alone, such as before she gets up, on your drive to work, or in the quiet after everyone else is asleep. Keep a small notebook or a note on your phone where you write down specific requests: a friendship that is strained, a test coming up, a decision she is weighing. Returning to those notes over weeks lets you see how God is answering, even when the answers come slowly.

It can help to pray this prayer with your hands busy, such as folding laundry, washing dishes, or packing her lunch, so the words are part of ordinary life. Consider inviting a spouse, a close friend, or a small group to pray for her with you. Asking them to pray together for your daughter reminds you that you do not carry her alone.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord bless her and keep her, and make His face shine upon her and be gracious to her. May she grow in wisdom, courage, and kindness, and know every day that she is loved by the One who made her. May she walk confidently into the years ahead, held in the faithful care of God.
