This is a written prayer for renewed faith, for the season when belief feels thin, prayer feels dry, and the things you once held firmly now seem distant. You can pray it aloud exactly as written, or read it slowly and then continue in your own words. It works at the start of a day, during a quiet evening, or in a moment when you simply need to admit that you are struggling to trust.

Christian Prayer for Renewed Faith

Lord, you know how things have been with me. Some mornings I open my Bible and the words feel flat, and I wonder whether anyone is listening when I pray. I have gotten used to going through the motions, and some part of me is tired of pretending everything is fine. I am not asking you to explain every hard thing in my life. I am asking you to draw near to me again.

Renew what has grown cold in me. Stir up the hunger I used to feel for your word and for time with you. Remind me of the ways you have been faithful, even when I could not see it then. Where doubt has crept in, speak truth to me. Where discouragement has settled, lift it. Teach me to trust you with the people I love, with my work, and with the questions I cannot answer yet.

Father, give me a faith that is alive and not only a habit. Let me come back to you honestly, without performing, and let your presence be real to me again. Hold me steady until my heart catches up with what I know to be true about you. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Lord, my faith feels weak today, and I don’t have the strength to fix it on my own. Warm what has gone cold in me and remind me that you are near. Help me trust you for the next step, even if I cannot see the whole road. Give me a little more faith than I have right now. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.”

(WEB)

When your faith feels loud with worry, pray this verse slowly and let it quiet you. Ask God to help you stop striving long enough to remember who he is. Renewed faith often begins with stillness rather than effort.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. 23 They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

(WEB)

Use this passage when you feel you have used up your own supply of hope. Thank God that his compassion has not run out, and ask him to show you that mercy again this morning. Let his faithfulness, not your feelings, set the pace of your prayer.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.

(WEB)

Pray this verse when you cannot feel God clearly. Ask him to make the substance of what you hope for more solid in your heart. Faith here is described as confidence in what is unseen, so you can bring your unseen hopes to him directly.

Mark 9:24

Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

(WEB)

This short honest cry from a father is a good prayer for anyone whose faith is mixed with doubt. Say it to God without shame, and ask him to help the parts of you that still struggle to believe. He welcomes honest prayers like this.

Isaiah 40:29-31

29 He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. 30 Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; 31 But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

(WEB)

Pray this passage when you feel exhausted in your spirit. Ask God to give strength to the weary and to renew your inner energy as you wait on him. Let the picture of waiting become part of how you trust him each day.

How to Pray This Prayer

Choose a time when you are least rushed, often early in the morning or before bed. Sit somewhere you can be still, with a Bible or a notebook nearby. Read the prayer once silently, then aloud, pausing after each paragraph to let the words settle. If your mind wanders, return to the line where you stopped and continue from there.

Consider keeping one hand open on your lap as you pray, a small sign that you are receiving rather than demanding. You might also invite someone you trust to pray this prayer with you, or to pray it for you when you cannot manage it yourself. Renewed faith is often strengthened in community as much as in private.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord who has been faithful to every generation renew the trust in your heart and steady your steps. May the nearness of God be more real to you than your doubts, and may his peace guard your mind through this season. Go in the confidence that the one who began a good work in you is still at work.
