This daily prayer for faith and strength is for the moments when your trust feels thin and your energy feels spent. Pray it first thing in the morning, before the day’s demands arrive, or in the evening when you need to hand your worries back to God. You can read it aloud exactly as written, or use it as a starting point and speak in your own words.

Daily Prayer for Faith and Strength

Lord, I come to you again today, and I need you more than I like to admit. Some mornings my faith feels strong and some mornings it feels like a flicker I am trying to keep alive with my hands cupped around it. Strengthen what is weak in me. Help me believe that you are near even when I cannot feel you, and that your promises still hold when my circumstances look unsettled.

I bring you the things that press on me: the work that never seems to end, the conversations I dread, the people I love who are struggling, and the quiet fears I do not always say out loud. I do not have to carry all of it by myself. Give me the strength to face what is in front of me today, one honest step at a time, and the wisdom to recognize when I need rest instead of more effort.

Be my steady ground when my own resolve gives way. Let my faith grow deeper than my moods, anchored in who you are and not in how I feel. Fill me with patience for those around me, courage for the hard choices, and gentleness toward myself when I fall short. Thank you for being faithful even when I am not. Amen.

A Shorter Version to Pray in a Moment

Father, I am tired and my faith feels small right now. Give me strength for the next hour and trust for the day ahead. Remind me that you are with me in this exact moment, and help me take the next faithful step. I rest in your care. Amen.

Scriptures to Pray Alongside

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

(WEB)

Pray this verse when your strength feels used up. Ask God to renew you the way he renews eagles’ wings, not by making the task smaller but by giving you what you need to keep going.

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

(WEB)

Read this slowly and let each phrase become a request. Ask God to be your refuge in the specific trouble you are facing today, and to be strength for you when your own is not enough.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

(WEB)

Use this verse to ask for strength to meet a particular challenge. Pray that Christ would give you the endurance to do what he has called you to, not only what you feel capable of on your own.

Psalm 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

(WEB)

Bring your fears into the open and pray this verse over them. Ask the Lord to be your light and your stronghold, so that the things that frighten you lose some of their grip on your heart.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. 23 They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

(WEB)

When yesterday felt heavy, pray these words for a fresh start. Thank God for mercies that are new each morning, and ask him to help you receive today’s portion of his faithfulness.

How to Pray This Prayer

Choose a fixed moment, such as while your coffee brews or before you pick up your phone, so the prayer becomes a habit rather than a rescue. Sit somewhere quiet where you will not be interrupted, and keep a Bible or notebook nearby. If your hands want something to do, hold a small object like a stone or a ring, or write the key lines on a card and tuck it into your bag.

You can also pray this prayer with someone else. Share it with a spouse, a friend, or a small group, and ask them to pray it for you on the days you cannot find the words. Some people read it aloud together at the start of the week, then return to it whenever their faith needs a lift.

A Blessing to Close

May the Lord who is faithful strengthen the heart that trusts him today. May he steady every step, renew every weary hour, and remind you that you are held. Go in peace, and carry his strength with you.
